Hong Kong Shopping Paradise
Where are the hot spots and cool places to shop in Hong Kong? Hong Kong Shopping - Pricey Stuff If you can't live without brand names, say, Louis Vuiton(LV), Gucci, Burberry, Christian Dior, Prada, Harbour City at Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) or Landmark in Central are the cool places to be in. You may even meet some Hong Kong Celebrities too. Well, ... at least you will see Jackie Chan's poster in TST. If you are buying brand names, make sure you are shopping at some authentic franchise store, or else, you may be end up buying overpriced knok-offs, Hong Kongers say those are "Water Goods", meaning goods were imported from overseas in some private channels.
Hong Kong Shopping - Common Stuff In Mongkok, there are pedestrian streets with mobile stores open up, these are what is referred to the cheap stuff. You can buy 5 watches with a hundred Hong Kong dollars! There is a mall recently opened at Mongkok --- The Langham Place. (MTR station: exit E) It is well designed and it takes you the whole day to shop around. It has become one of the hottest tourist spots and of course a popular place for younger spenders. Variety is here. Exactly adjacent to the mall, there is the Langham Hotel. This 42-storey tower is also the most technologically advanced hotel. Mong kok has the most convenient transportation network. Besides having a MTR (Mass Transit Railway) exit in proximity, just walk for less than two minutes you can see a lot of bus stops with various destinations.
Usual Stuff: The Festival Walk at Kowloon Tong and Times Square at Causeway Bay are also enjoyable. Festival Walk includes different kinds of shops, eg. boutiques, bookstores, Western/ Eastern eateries, toy shops, gift shops and etc. To me, it is targeted to female costumers.
Fly-over escalators form the spacious style of the Festival Walk.
Men's prohibited area! Ladies, enjoy!
For the men and the kids while waiting desperately for the ladies, you may always go your favouriate Macdonalds, or KFC, if you prefer getting greasy hands.
Don't want to shop or want to do some exercise instead?
Traffic-jammed in Festival Walk, just like any other shopping mall in Hong Kong.
Skating In A Mall (A new window will open up)
I've seen places in Shenzhen, Guanzhou, and even Toronto used "Mong Kok" and "CausewayBay" to name their shopping centers. Hong Kongers should be proud. My favourite shopping spots? Online, of course :) But, sometimes, I would also go to Mong Kok for computer goodies. Many a times, I just go there for fun and window-shopping only.
