Hong Kong Housing

Old buildings (usually > 30 years AND without lifts) are called "Tong Houses", as shown in the picture.

In my humble opinion, Tong Houses are better to live in as the ceilings are usually much higher than those of the modern residential buildings.

It allows a better sense of freedom.

For newer buildings, also referred as "Yeung Houses" (buildings with lifts), I can reach the ceiling simply by raising my hands. If not, a little jump will suffice the job.

Yeung Houses are never meant to welcome "Yao Ming" for sure.

Who is Yao Ming?

Yao Ming is currently the tallest (Chinese) NBA player.
