Top Hong Kong Cheap Hotels And Accommodations
One of the challenges to fully explore Hong Kong with a limited budget is choosing your Hong Kong cheap hotels wisely. Staying optimally in a perfect accommodation in Hong Kong does not only relieve you from heavy expenses, but also maximize your time to get the best deal for your trip.If you choose to stay in a typical cozy Hong Kong hotel, your hotel expenses may easily rake up to HKD1,000, or USD150 per day. Thus, many opt to stay in Hong Kong cheap hotels for an apparent reason. Although Hong Kong budget rooms may not offer world-class service, you may save your hard-earned money for other shopping items on your shopping list. A few tips if you are a budget traveler and would like to have the best deal in staying in Hong Kong: 1) Picking a location Many of these Hong Kong cheap hotels are situated in some busiest commercial areas where you may shop easily around the vicinity, e.g. Mong Kok, Causeway and Wan Chai. 2) Room size Budget accommodations are usually smaller, indeed. If you are a huge person (say, over six feet tall), staying in one of these Hong Kong cheap hostels, may not be a very good choice. Rooms are small and you may not sleep comfortably in a relatively small bed. 3) Specific needs If you are allergic to smoke, you may have to ask for details of the hostel, to verify if they may locate you to a non-smoking room, if you so require.
My brother and sister-in-law personal experience
My brother and my sister-in-law came to Hong Kong during the peak season, when all medium-priced hotels were booked. They chose to lodge in a budget hotel on Nathan Road. The room was definitely small and should house only one-person. The manageress of the hostel said, “It’s a double room.” When we asked her if there was a bigger one, she took us down the hall-way and showed us another room which looked like a couple room. Beyond our expectation, the manageress said, “This is a family-sized room, which has been booked a month ago by some family from mainland China, and honestly, this is a hot season and no room is available.” Phew! Fortunately, my brother and sister-in-law are flexible persons. Though small, the room was clean and well-maintained. I am sure Peninsula Hotel could have been a better deal, but then HKD2,000 (USD300 per night) was not an option at the time. If you don't mind fitting yourself in a relatively small bed or you are coming for an adventure trip. This is for you :) Recommendation: 1) Choose Kowloon/ CausewayBay under tab #2, where it says: Choose a city or property, if you a night person. (Kowloon/ Causewaybay are the places to go at night, and you will find convenient transportation, even at 3:00am!) 2) Personally, my impression for Mirador and ChungHing Mansions are not that good; don't choose them, unless you love hanging out in Tsim Sha Tsui. 3) Some of the cheap accomodations have internet access for free. Do check this feature out. Good luck :)
