November 28, 2005 23:18 - In Remembrance of Grandpa

My grandpa passed away of pleural effusion this morning 5:00am in Toronto.

My father called me and told me that, "Your grandfather was taken to heaven, this morning at 5:00am." My father was like a recorder which repeated the same sentence several times.

Six months ago, my grandpa got lost on his way to downtown which was like a second home to him. My aunt and grandma went to the police to seek help. After more than 6 hours search, the police found him wandering in downtown at mid-night.

That night got my grandma really worried.

Since then, my grandpa's health, as well as his memory deteriorated, ... until this morning.

He had difficult in hearing as long as my memory serves. Hence, I seldom talked to him for the past ten years, even during my years of college in Canada.

To Chinese, what is love?

Asking you to put on another clothes until you sweat, putting more food into your bowl when you are already full.

Chinese rarely say, "I love you".

My grandpa did treat me nicely, ... always asked me to dress well, eat well and stay warm, when those fulfillments are apparently not lacking.

Well, I guess, love is a wish for someone in good shape.

Well, I am sure my grandfather passed away, but whether or not, he has gone to heaven is another issue.

Grandpa: No matter where you are, may you rest in peace.

... some day and one day, sooner or later, I shall figure out where you went.
